Take your first steps into the exciting makeup industry. You will learn all the basics of day, evening, fashion, photographic and retail makeup, focusing on the correct techniques of applying makeup. You will also learn how to:
•Apply strip and individual lashes
•Design and apply smokey eyes
•Create makeup for black & white and colour photography
•Apply makeup in relation to face, eye and lip shapes
•Colour match and mix foundations to skin tones
The Certificate II in Retail Makeup and Skin Care is a gateway course into working in a vibrant exciting industry and will give you all the starting techniques and knowledge to proceed into the world of makeup artistry. The course is for you if:
•You have no prior knowledge of the makeup industry
•You have a passion for colour, fashion, beauty and makeup
•You aspire to work for one of the world’s leading cosmetic companies (such as Napoleon, M.A.C, Nars, Bobbi Brown and Illamasqua)
Course Prerequisites
Students should have completed Year 10 (or equivalent) and should be at least 15 years of age. Applicants who have not completed Year 10 (or equivalent) should include with their application form all relevant information about their interests, studies and experience that supports their application.
